...anyone else feel like they haven't slept in days? Pros and Cons of the last week or so...: Pros: *Seeing friends over the weekend was a nice break in the routine. Cons: *I had a paper due tuesday morning which i promptly started 8pm monday night. Besides all that though, I am really happy with the fact that we got out of the shitty apartment experience with only minor losses and major annoyances and things are starting to look up. School has been insane the last few days, but there is only about 2 weeks left and than i have the summer off which will be nice. I'll be in TO a lot so I am looking forward to seeing everyone more often. And I haven't been hit by a bus or anything recently, so i have a lot to look forward to. I also compulsively bought a camera backpack on ebay the other day which is waiting for me in TO haha. So, I am excited to go home and check that out/also excited about the photo expeditions I will now have the opportunity to take over summer. I am also looking at buying the new intel i mac and a video camera and making movies all summer. Enjoy.

So I am just hanging out in the library enjoying the Wi-Fi. I have a midterm at 5 for my shakespeare class which should go pretty well. I wish I could take it now though, instead of having to study for it for the next 4 hours when I don't really need to. Anywho, both majors are going pretty well; I actually just sent in my whole petition to double major form and my advisor said it's 99% going to happen. Work is going fine despite getting a new assistant manager which has been interesting lately since few people seem to like her very much. I am hesitant to write my own opinions on here for fear of corporate interception and the chance that I could end up all Melissa Lee TO- high school style. But yeah, school work school work, thats pretty much my life lately, as well as trying to finalize our entire lease agreement and start packing everything for next month since I only get to do it like one day a week when we drive back to TO and Camarillo and such. But I am really excited about that and I think it will be a really good change for the both of us, something to break the feeling that everything around me is just kind of happening without really taking any of it in. Besides that awkward/kind of depressing feeling, I am an otherwise happy person heh. Life is good and I appreciate all the opportunities God has given me lately. I threw in that last "God has given me lately" line just to scare the people I haven't talked to in a while. I was hoping the reaction would be "WTF" until they read this line and saw i was kidding. heh, I miss people and I will probably send out a couple of emails as soon as I find the time. So, this quarter is already kind of crazy. 2 comm classes and 2 english classes and work and such, so i've been busy. I was kind of bummed since i didn't get the TA i wanted for one of the english classes and instead got a crazy woman. She is THE stereotype of the over-the-top female activist 1960's women's lib movement college female. She talked for half the section about how she does not want us to wear deodorant or any kind of chemically scented products since it upsets students who have chemical/environmental sensitivities and diseases including asthma and such. So yeah, and she also created an entire other syllabus just for her section that includes a ton of queer literature, since she is a lesbian. I have no problem with adding one or two things and more power to her for being gay but she added like 15 additional readings and would not shut up about being a lesbian. She said "rug-munching" three times. Its bad enough when conservative professors take up class time to impress their own views upon students who have to be there, but its just as annoying when liberal people do this. I just wanted to go to the class to talk about modern literature, not rug munching and asthma. I have asthma, i don't care if people wear deodorant, she should have taken a poll or something before establishing her earth/people-friendly classroom policies. So besides that, my life is going more or less smoothly, school is already crazy and work is fine. Sadie is doing well and I am looking forward to getting a place in the next couple months or so. So Christmas break has been good to me in many ways. I got to hang out with most of my favorite people. I worked 40 hours last week. That was a little insane but i will be happy when i get paid for it so yayyy for money. But yeah, i guess i am both excited/annoyed about going back to school. I like school and having a routine and stuff but it has been nice having nothing to do but work and sleep and such. But yes, i missed sadie a lot since she is a nomad and spent christmas in other cities and states and such but i did get to spend a lot of nice time with her as well. We went down to third street with my family while it was raining which was a little crazy since we forgot to bring umbrellas and could not find them anywhere. But we found this one really cool store that sadie and i both loved and that i might go back to soon and buy a suit from since i look darn good in a suit if i may say so. But yeah, me and josh and martin had a random drive down lynn road a few days ago as well, we went to in and out and saw michelle yang there which was fun and then we drove to my old house in NP and josh drove around the cul de sac like 4 times and then we drove down lynn some more until we found a house with a 150 foot vertical drive way haha. Josh and jennie and seb and I had dinner at Enriques on TO BLVD one night which was also good times and then a lot of us had a party in my car in the janns mall parking lot culminating with the windows getting all foggy and gross and me and jennie drawing pictures all over it. Another night a lot of us went to coffee and dreams and caught up with eachother. December 15th was sadie and my 4th anniversary which was very nice and romantic and such. We went to our favorite restaurant down in the valley and had a very nice time. I love her much. Christmas was also very nice although it came and went too fast in my opinion. I got a canon rebel DSLR though which is oh so exciting for me since i love the photography and i have been taking/printing many a picture over the last couple weeks. But yes, we are probably going to drive back up to SB tonight and move some stuff back in. Oh in other very exciting news, Sadie and I are planning on moving up to SB over summer and getting our own place together which is probably the most exciting thing ever. So yes i love you all and had a very fun time with everyone i got to hang out with over break. -Dana s. |

So its been a while, i always feel like updating livejournal is like running in to someone you have been avoiding at the mall. Stop giving me a guilt trip livejournal. Anywho, ive been hanging out in the university center on WI-FI (unlike the TO library heh) since like 8am since i had to drop off some art sutff for sadie, but yes im up early. This thanksgiving weekend was insane. Sadie was off in Arizona so that was lonely but i got to see most of my lovely friends at martins and the library and such. And last week was a lot of fun seeing harry potter 4 with josh and nick and chad and sadie, it was very good times. I miss you already josh, it was sad not hanging out as much as i would have liked, but the fact i had two papers due today did not make it super easy for me to do anything. So yeah, i spent most of my weekend doing those which is sad cuz now i feel like a really didnt get a break at all. But anyways, thanksgiving was fun, we went down to the fire dept. in beverly hills cuz my dad was working and ate dinner down there with everyone so that was neat. In other news i finally did my photo project/paper last night. Here is one of the pictures:
Work is still going very well and i still love washington mutual and santa barbara and such. School has seemed unusually tough this year for sadie and i both for some reason and as much as i enjoy learning and such i want this quarter to be over soooo bad. It was nice to have a week off of work though to be at home and do the papers and hang out with the fam and such. Also i got a new phone finally haha for anyone that was not at martin's house. I feel that the black razor is in many ways superior to my former nokia 3390 of like 7 years. Anyways, i hope all the people i didnt get to see are doing as well as the ones i did see. So as you can see from sadies post we have both been busy lately. I had a midterm on wednesday which i spent all last week studying for. Then i was up until 2:30 last night studying for my anthropology midterm and now im sitting in the coffee shop at school enjoying free wifi and trying to relax a little bit. I decided to ditch photography today since i am too tired to walk all the way over to the classroom. But none of this weeks stuff is on monday's midterm so whatever anyways. I am really happy to be done with 2/3 of my midterms. Oh yeah and all of this studying and everything is done while working 30 hours a week at Wamu, which is still a very cool job and im still liking it a lot. Also, i have recently discovered john coltrane who is also very cool haha. So this year has been going well i suppose, except i am tired a lot again, since i dont sleep very much during the school years ever. But whatever, it beats sitting at home doing absolutely nothing like i was towards the end of summer. I dunno who reads lj anymore, im pretty sure its me nick michelle josh and sadie haha. I might as well just email you guys. But anyways, im happy and feeling good, i wish my schedule with everything mellowed out a little so i had more time to relax and sit down and spend more time with the moofin. and maybe read a book or something. Hey so its been forever. For anyone who reads this and hasnt heard i sadly, no longer work at coldstone. So its actually not sad at all, i got really fed up with the new owner and driving and everything so now i work at Washington Mutual on State Street in SB. AND, i love it oh so much. Washington Mutual is probably the most employee friendly company ever and its been called one of the best jobs for a long time by lots of different magazines like Forbes and such. It is awesome to finally be appreciated by a company. So yes, thats about all the new news i have except that school is going well so far since ive only had two days of classes, but so far they are very interesting. If you read this, HAPPY BIRTHDAY a day late to HEATHER SAND!!! and happy birthday to michelle yap coming up. yay for birthdays. Hi all, im sitting in a really cool little like private study room right now in the resource center at school. Its a corner room though so there are two windows and the sun is setting right now and im just enjoying it immensely haha. Anyways,i havent updated in a long time, i guess thats a given though. Umm, i had midterms the last two weeks and lots of papers and fun things like that. But right now i don't really have anything to do except for a couple of long term papers and the regular reading and such, but no tests looming this week. Sadie and i had an awesome time camping and we were gonna surf today but she ended up having to work and it is really windy here right now which is a little random. But yeah, it is good to hear that most of you guys are doing well and looking forward to summer as much as i am. Europe is in August and we are going on a couple road trips as soon as school gets out up to oregon and such so i am very very excited that there are only 5 weeks of school left haha. I don't really know what else to say, i just felt like updating this and letting people know that i am still alive and have not completely fallen off the earth. Anyways, back to reading and such. So theres 5 more minutes left in my saturday night. Sadie and i watched finding neverland last night which we thought was a lovely little film. We woke up this morning and made breakfast and watched spanglish a second time, another lovely film. Then i went to work at 5 and that was sad except that i got to work with lots of people i like so the hours went by faster than they normally would have. But yeah, in spite of the hours seemlingly flying by i only got home a few moments ago. The gaps between live journal updates for me are growing longer and i think its just because i have so much else to do. School is going well, although i started the quarter off a little shaky since i was sick and missed the first week or so of classes and then crashed another class so im still playing catch-up. But i like all of my classes now and am looking forward to getting a lot out of this quarter. I made 20 bucks in tips tonight at work in spite of the charity donation boxes we have. I know it sounds horrible but whenever we have donation boxes our tips usually go down haha. *is evil. Anyways, i hope people are doing well. ilym. -dana

So spring break... Although i feel like i have done nothing but sleep in and lounge around my house i have actually done a surprisingly large array of things. I have gotten a chance to catch up on much needed sleep which has been lovely, i dont think we have awoken before 11 this entire week. I have also had a chance to read a little bit, just for fun. I have gotten to hang out at home with my brother a lot which has been fun just doing random things like heads up poker marathons. I recieved The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time in the mail today from amazon so that is something exciting. Sadie and i have had a many a lovely lunch together, made pudding, watched several movies, wrestled and talked a lot. I have greatly enjoyed the time off of work as well as being off school and can't express what it's like to be without stress. Surfing with nick and liz was a lot of fun on wednesday. Yesterday i cut all of my hair off as many people have seen over the last couple of days. It might not seem like a huge deal but it is still really strange when i walk by a mirror quickly and dont recognize my profile. I really like that it is short now though, it is so much easier to handle. Today i ate lunch with sadie, her mother, and her aunt at the cheesecake factory which was a lot of fun. I think i have straightened out my classes for next quarter and am now excited for our trip next weekend down to encinitas for much surfing and beachhouse-enjoying. I think its safe to say that i am a happy person right now. Life is going well. |

So it has indeed been a long time since i updated this. It seems as though that phrase has preceeded all of my live journal entries from the last few months. Anyways, the other night was a lot of fun hanging out with casey, nick, nick, reed, robyn, michelle, sadie, and josh. I woke up at 5:30 this when sadie got up to study some more and yeah i was up late last night studying with her so sleep has not been so awesome during finals week. But i had my final for religious studies monday morning and i owned it so hardcore since i spent forever studying and i really liked that class. So tomorrow i have one and then thursday im done so hoooooray for that. Depending on weather conditions my spring break plans may change, but either the first half or second half of the week i will be home and surfing lots. We went out the other day at the start of the giant few days of 8-30 foot waves up and down central/south ca. It was fun despite the fact it was a little late in the day. But yes i am so excited that it is almost spring break and i only have 2 days left of finals and studying like a mofo and such. I feel like i had other stuff to say but now i have forgotten, today is sadie and my 39 month anniversary haha, thats the obscure anniversary. Hey so im doing well. I felt like updating this because reading through my friends page yields the same 4 people updating about 20 times a day. So yes anyways, Ani Difranco on Valentines day with ms. raber was lots of fun. We were at the stage about a foot to the left of Ani, which has been our same concert viewing position for our favorite concerts (train and the shins and so on). But yes it was a lot of fun and im glad i have someone to do stuff like that with. I was a bit angry and kind of had a meltdown this morning because i didnt get 2 out of the 3 classes i wanted for next quarter, but i decided the two english ones i got in place of the other two english ones will do just as well. I just wanted a class where i get to read a lot of books and write about them since i havent had an english or literature class in a while and that is what i love so yes. Also, i dont really care anymore if anyone reads or comments on this, so if you do happen to read it and feel the need to say something stupid, say it somewhere else. please. I finally got to pick up my guitar again last week and just played around in my room for about 3 hours and then me and nick jammed for the first time in a while. So that was a lot of fun. So as of now life is good. Ani was amazing. Sadie is wonderful. School is going well. I am no longer really sick so that is yet another plus. -Dana

So i just wanted to say happy thanksgiving. I miss sadie. I am excited to see people this weekend. I am glad my friends are all in the same zip code again and i hope i get to see most of them. I am thankful for so much right now and i dont even have the time to list it. But the people who are most special to me know who they are. |

So it has been a really long time since i last updated. I guess i have just had way too much other stuff preventing me from having any free time to spare on live journal. But i figured i should try and update since i always read other people's entries. So i had all of my midterms and those all went well enough for me. Although i actually dont know my exact grades on any of them yet i feel confident that i am better than those exams haha. I registered for next quarter's classes yesterday: 1.) Philosophy of ethics. And remarkably those were actually the classes i wanted as opposed to just getting what was left over from everything else. My freshman advisor guy was totally right when he said that fall quarter of freshman year is the worst for registration and all the quarters after it are way easier. But anyways, it was nice to see everyone at allegros the other day, or mostly everyone. Some of my favorite people were not in attendance. Anywho, im sitting in sadie's dorm currently (sadie and ashley are reading), and im just hanging out enjoying a moment of free time. I went to the library on campus today and that was awesome except they unfortunately have not yet reiecved a couple of the books i wanted to check out. Anyways, i dont really know what else to say, except that i am still disappointed about the outcome of this election as i am sure most of you are. Anywho, i have incredible amounts of reading to do so i shall leave you to your evenings. -Dana

So i have not updated this in forever! Umm its probly because the quarter system has been having its way with me daily. Intense is the only way to describe school right now. It is also a lot of fun and such but yeah reading and everything is insane. But i am learning a lot and understanding stuff so i feel good about that. Everything else has been going good i suppose. I decided to build a longboard skateboard. So yeah that will probably start tomorrow along with another 5 hours of homework. Anywho, its been so long that the like update method has changed. The last few days have been a lot of fun being up at SB and such for the most part. And work hasn't been too bad lately i guess, but it makes me money so i guess i will continue to do it for now. Anyways, i just thought id update and see how everyone was doing and mostly just read all your posts.
